We spend a lot of time out in the field, and almost as much time afterwards dealing with everything we brought home. These are the programs we wrote to make that part easier. They save us hours on every shoot, so we're sharing them.
Empty your memory cards without that nagging doubt.
You know the feeling. It's late, you're worn out after a long day of shooting, and the cards need emptying before tomorrow. Did the copy really finish? Is everything actually there? Is it safe to format the card now? We asked ourselves that on every expedition, so we built something that answers it for us.
IVAR Ingest copies your card to up to three drives at once and checks every single file afterwards. It only turns green when your footage is safe on every drive. And back home, when videos and photos are all jumbled together in one folder, one click moves the videos into a folder of their own, ready for the edit.
Runs on: Windows 10 and 11
Pick your card and the drives you want copies on.
Get through thousands of photos in minutes, not evenings.
After an expedition we come home with thousands of photos. Going through them one by one to find the few good ones used to eat whole evenings, and somewhere around photo 800 you stop really seeing anything.
Now we point the Photo Culler at the folder and let it do the first pass. It rates every photo, weeds out the blurry ones, finds the best frame in each burst and picks the shots that tell the story. When we open Lightroom the sorting is already done, and we get to do the fun part: choosing our favourites.
Runs on: Windows 10 and 11 with an NVIDIA graphics card
Some of the AI models it uses are free for non-commercial use only.
No release yet. Watch the repository to hear when the first version is out.

Stitch fulldome and 360° films right inside DaVinci Resolve.
Making films for planetarium domes means filming in several directions and stitching the pieces into one giant image. For us that meant hours of rendering in separate programs and huge temporary files, again and again, every time something in the edit changed.
So we're building a stitcher that lives inside DaVinci Resolve, the editor we already use. You set up each shot once, and the stitching simply happens as you edit and export. We're using it on our own fulldome productions right now, and we're opening it up to a few more people who want to try it early.
Runs on: Windows, DaVinci Resolve Studio and PTGui Pro
